KILO Not Dead!!!

Postby Tieden on Sat Jan 19, 2008 1:15 am

Do not worry. Kilo is not dead. In fact soon it will be more alive then ever. Most recently my life has been taken over by many factors such as my girlfriend who recently moved in with me. So as you can guess... she commands alot of attention.
Isaiah on the computer all night working on his project... nope she won't have it... she wants to "cuddle". lol

But no that hasn't been all of it, I've been tutoring, finding a new job, Finishing school. and learning Korean. But soon school will be over hopefully by the end of this month. Then Brandy will move out and live with her mother for a long time before we buy a place together. Soon There will only be work, Korean, and Kilo!

I will admit I have been putting things off for some time. But I promised I will do this I'm not leaving even if only I am making this.

By Thursday I'll post some concept art, including concepts for the villian and hero.

Thank you for your patience

*Just to show I have fixed the link to the forums in the main site

You forgot to post the concept art, or anything else for the last 5 months... ;)

PS. Freeforums is an awful forum host. Why did you change?

Yeah

Considering the 3 members the forum has, and the loss of a scanner I haven't put as much effort into getting up the millions of art I have pined up as I should have. Also even though work continues I haven't been checking on the forums lately. The loss of valued members when the forum went down was more then disappointing to say the least. And has really delayed this project way more then I thought. We went from having a growing community to about nothing haha.

As for the game, I have completely changed the storyline and setting. Don't worry I will keep all we have done for a later game when I believe the community has grown enough to support it, as well it was a very epic goal. It's still the same world, just another area, time, and story. Also I feel a much more open design would be easier when I'll be doing alot of the work until the community grows. But I'm a designer and artist, not much of a programmer. :?
I don't want want to say much more until I have got something up and running, but it's been taxing. Especially since CrystalSpace continues to be a pain in my ass. It seems that just when I have the engine set up something else goes wrong. I'm beginning to doubt the decision to use it seriously. If it can be this big a problem setting it up, I can't imagine the problems we'll have when production starts!
And so I really am thinking of using an engine that would be alot more stable. I'll be looking at Sauerbraten soon as my internet situation settles. Which I'm sure will make you happy LOL
I'll try to check on the forum more, sorry about that.

You could try creating a google group as the forum or using the phpBB supplied by Sourceforge (investigate Hosted Apps).

Definitely get your concept art online. If there's no activity, there's no project, and thus no chance of interest.

You can use Picasa for hosting the concept art work.

Your right, I've been playing around with phpBB and am learning to set it up now.
I'm also finding sauerbraten very powerful and flexible, all I need to do is figure out the scripting as many know I'm an artist not a programmer. But I'll figure it out, I'm determined.

Okay just a quick update, I've designed alot. All I really have to do is actually write out the story which I've already outlined and planned extensively.
As for the programing, I'm finding that I'm not much the programmer I hoped I would be :/
Alas, I'm an artist and writer. I will continue to beat myself till night trying to figure it out, but I can't just wrap my head around it.

Also I do have concept art, just been without a scanner for a while.
If anyone would like to collaborate to help with programing please let me know haha >.<

till next time^-^
